The purpose of the Westbrook Foundation, Inc. is to receive and administer funds and other property to help meet the medical and education, social, welfare, cultural, recreational, and civic needs of the citizens of the town of Westbrook, Connecticut. In furthering these aims, the foundation is intended to work directly, as well as indirectly, by aiding and assisting institutions, which are organized and operated to fulfill such needs.
Simply stated, the objective of the Westbrook Foundation, Inc. is to distribute available funds in a manner calculated to bring the greatest possible benefit to the residents of Westbrook.
The Foundation sees its main roles as being that of
(1) the provision of "seed money" for new services,
(2) the allocation of funds to fill needs which are not
met by any other organizations or source
In general, the Foundation will grant funds for special
purposes that do not commit the Foundation to
recurring expenses. Funds may be given for buildings,
equipment and land, in addition to programs.
